Cairn Terriers

Scotland. Their ancestors were used to hunt vermin from the rock
piles, or Cairn Terriers share their rodents and the like.
Cairns are alert, courageous, tenacious, intelligent and have a sturdy
body, an outer weather proof coat with a soft under coat. With a
healthy little dogs and live into their teens. The female Cairn Terrier
is about 9 1/5 inches tall and weighs around 13 pounds, while a male
Cairn Terrier is a little larger- 10 inches tall and weighs around 14
pounds. Their bodies should be 14 to 15 inches from the front of the
chest to the back of the hindquarters.
Cairns are a very confident little dogs with a lot of common sense, an
independent nature, friendly with everyone they come into contact
with. They are adaptable to life in the city, on a farm, or anything in
between. Cairns are active and playful, happy and full of high spirits.
They have tender feelings and do not need harsh punishment at all,
just a firm loving hand and consistent behavior on their owners part.
Cairn Terriers are affectionately known as “the best little pal in the
world” and live up to their reputation.
